Would You Like A Little Gospel With Your Water?..

Christian Liberalism means: "A God without wrath brought men without sin into a kingdom without judgment through the ministrations of a Christ without a Cross." - H. Richard Niebuhr

While I do not have any specific point in quoting this statement, I found it quite interesting and thought that others may as well... It's funny how in the desire of some to make the Gospel "relevant" and unoffensive... ... well... there is no unoffensive Gospel...

God is not a Precious Moments cartoon...
So, suck it up...

When the "unoffensive" gospel is preached it doesn't come back void, for it produces a new race. A race that is not dead but mearly redecorated to fit the religious robes and "christian" nuances. These are "ians". They are enemies of the true gospel for they have recieved the love of God in vain. They consider salvation as forgiveness and forgiveness as their ticket to heaven. Salvation is cheapened when it is thought to be for forgiveness only. They are "ians".
Christians without Christ.

i agree. god knows whats going to happen. its like jesus said when he was in india studying and worshipping with the llamas: ' god is everywhere; he is inside of us, he is in nature. we are all a piece of god. together we collectively make up god."

and that is sooooooooo totally true!!!!! if churches weren't so close minded, they would be able to learn who jesus truly was! if i hadn't had my eyes opened, i wouldn't have been able to share an awesomely powerful message like that with everyone! and there are soooooo many more out there!!! everyone should learn who the REAL jesus was!!!!!

Rachel. I really can't agree with you on that. God is holy. He is a perfect being and there is no way that we as sinners could "collectively make up god." God is God. He is perfect and completely flawless. While we are flawed. And I'm sorry, but I really don't think that the books you have read are accurate. Jesus never wrote anything. And you know it says in Revelation 22:18-19 "I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book."
I hope this doesn't sound rude at all, I'm not trying to be, honestly. But how can you be reading "the writings of Jesus" when He never wrote anything? Do you really think Jesus would "worship with llamas?" And I don't understand how you can find the bible boring? It's God's word to us, Rachel. The history of his relationship with His people, and the wonderful sacrifice of Jesus in order that we might be saved from the wrath of God. It's full of so many wonderful things. God isn't just a God of love, He is also a God of wrath, judgment, and power. Have you read the Old Testament? When Achan sinned God had Joshua kill his whole family and all their cattle for goodness sakes.
The "real" Jesus is in the bible, you just must've missed Him somehow.

rachel, Jeff may be gracious enough to let you spout that crap on his blog, but i am not so... if you want to talk about something, feel free to email me... however, if its a joke, its not so funny anymore, and if its not a joke, please email me, because your comments are absurd heresy and have worn out their welcome here...
